I’ve been seeing so many posts from my Christian friends about how they have serious battles going on in their lives. I totally understand about those and after seeking the Lord about what He would like me to assign for June, I thought we could all benefit from the theme of “Victory”. Wishing us all a great June!

Hello everyone! Wow what a busy week it was for me! I had a few doctor appointments, a few Bible studies (one that just went on summer hiatus) and a lot of laundry and housework! Today is the Lord’s day and I’m enjoying putting my feet up with my laptop on my lap and talking to all of you while my son plays nearby and listens to Pooh’s Grand Adventure on Netflix 🙂 As I share these updates with you all, I’ll be catching up on the week’s events and seeing how our pastors and teachers line them up with the Bible along with all of you 🙂 Let’s go!

Hello everyone! How was your week? I’d love to hear from you and get to know some of you better!
I had a busy week! I had two doctor’s appointments back to back out of town on Friday and other than Bible study in the middle of the week and an appointment the day before that, I spent the week tearing into my house for Spring cleaning. Whew…I’m definitely more Mary than Martha! I know Jesus said that Mary chose the better one, but I do need a touch more Martha in my life 🙂 It’s nice being productive though. I got a brand new primary care doctor I saw and am trying to get used to her. My prior doctor moved 2 1/2 hours away or I’d make the drive to see him. He’s a believer and I just loved him. So pray all goes well with my new doctor if you will 🙂

I hope you’ve all had a great week! It’s been dreary and rainy this week here in north central Ohio, but a productive week nevertheless 🙂 I’ve begun spring cleaning pausing only for doctor’s appointments and after taking a tumble and falling after tripping over a box of my son’s books while carrying groceries in to the kitchen. I was pretty sore till today, my arm is finally feeling better. Regardless, I am blessed and able to take today, the Lord’s day, off to rest and get this post for us uploaded and ready for us to glean from. I hope you are challenged by these updates!

Forgive me for neglecting my blogs during the month of April. I had my hands full (still do) with Spring cleaning and gathering things for a yard sale I hope to have in June. Also, a close family member passed away and along with that was the need to nurture my mom more than usual as my cousin who passed away was like a son to her.

I can really relate to today’s devotional. It’s so true that our minds are a battlefield!
I got myself a traveler’s notebook from Chic Sparrow for Christmas and since I wanted to use it for journaling and planning, I chose the Patina line and had Philippians 4:8 put on the front:
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.”
It seems like the ideal verse to be reminded of when you’re about to pour out your heart into words 🙂 This devotional takes that even further and I encourage us all to meditate on it this week 🙂
“From Dreaming to Doing”
Growing up, I heard today’s verse interpreted in negative terms. Take sinful thoughts captive and keep them out of your mind. And that is half the battle. But if we focus on the negative implications while ignoring the positive possibilities, it becomes a half-truth. It’s also about capturing creative thoughts and keeping them in our minds. Simply put, it’s about stewarding every idea inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Every dream is created twice. The first creation is mental. Every invention, every business, every building, every painting is conceived in the right-brain imagination first. It’s nothing more than a single-cell idea at that point. The second creation is physical. You make it obedient to Christ via blood, sweat, and tears.
If your dream is a book, you make it obedient with a keyboard.
If your dream is playing professional sport, you make it obedient at the gym.
If your dream is making music, you make it obedient one note at a time.
Your dreams will never exceed your imagination. You can’t achieve what you don’t believe. So idea generation is important. But idea execution is where the rubber meets the road.
I like thinkers. They make me think. And I applaud their ability to plot. But I love doers even more. They inspire me to action. And it’s the plodders, not the plotters, who make things happen.
God isn’t going to say, “Well planned, good and faithful servant.” He won’t say well thought, well said, or well strategized either. There is one commendation: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Setting goals is fun and games. Going after them is another matter. Without perspiration to match your inspiration, your dream imagined will turn into a dream deferred.
What do you need to start?
What are you waiting for?
Maybe it’s a diet. Maybe it’s a graduate program. Maybe it’s a church or a business. Whatever it is, the hardest part of finishing is starting. Going after a dream is like riding a bike—you’ve got to get a little momentum to really get going.
Consider this your push.
Where do you stand on the road to execution of your God-given idea?
The blog was messed up this past week due to a glitch in the functions.php file, but I got it fixed today. Please overlook the construction as I’m still getting the blog set up and situated.
