DIY Homemade Glimmer Mist Build Your Stash YouTube Video

Around the same time I made my DIY alcohol inks, I also made my own DIY glimmer mist. It’s along the same method, but you add a clear glue to the bottle as well. It adds a nice shimmer, glittery sparkle to your work, and who can’t use a little more sparkle in their lives? 🙂 It’s just the same 2-ounce spray bottles as in the alcohol ink video, alcohol, any clear-drying glue, and any loose eye shadow (I used LA Colors from Dollar Tree, but I just found a great assortment of it on Amazon for a great price here!)

Supplies I used:

Alcohol

Mod Podge (or any type of clear-drying glue)

Loose eye shadow (I got mine at Dollar Tree, but you can get a great variety of it on Amazon here)

So in the midst of all the family drama, I’ve been keeping my mind occupied in my newly-put together craft room. I decided to get busy on my YouTube channel and be of use to the Kingdom 🙂 There are so many great ideas for Christian art journaling and Bible journaling and I know a lot of you are struggling to keep on top of it all due to all the expensive supplies!

I decided to start this series on my YouTube channel and my blogs to help us all learn to make so many of our own supplies! That also helps us to be better stewards of the money the Lord gave us to care for ourselves, our families, and His Kingdom!

This very first installment is how to make your own alcohol inks 🙂 I got the markers at Dollar Tree, the alcohol I had on hand, and I got new 2-oz. spray bottles on Amazon. I’ll post the affiliate link under the video link here. (Of course, anytime you click on an affiliate link I get a little kickback myself at no additional cost to you).

Why pay big bucks for the expensive kind available at craft stores and hobby shops when you can create your own and save money?

These markers were a dollar a pack, but you can also use a 40% off coupon usually available at most craft stores and buy a pack of Sharpie markers too (make sure they are the markers, not the pens).

May, 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -Emotions

Hello everyone 🙂

Here’s our Scripture Writing Plan for May!

As has become a pattern with my posts of late…there is again a health scare for my husband I would covet your prayers regarding.

December through January gave him Sepsis in his knee, last month (March) he had to have the tip of his toe amputated due to MRSA (we suspect he contracted in the hospital or the three weeks in the nursing home during his Sepsis hospitalization.

THIS time it’s….cancer… He started noticing a growth on the back of his neck during this last hospital stay with the MRSA. At first we (and the hospital staff) thought it was just a cyst. But it kept growing… to now it’s the size of half an orange 🙁

His dermatologist did a biopsy a few weeks ago and we got the diagnosis of carcinoma last week. Right now we are awaiting Tuesday when he will undergo a PET scan, MRI, CT, and endoscopy to determine the extent of the cancer… The oncologist he saw last week wants to see where else (or hopefully nowhere else) the cancer may be. He wants to know if the neck is the extent of the cancer,or if it developed somewhere else and spread to his neck.

At any rate…you can imagine the stress as we wait…

But the Lord has been so good to us in the midst of it all, and in the effort to put Him first, I ask you for your prayers and move us on to our monthly scripture writing plan which helps to grow our faith and get us closer to Him regardless of our trials.

I’m so thankful that so many of you are enjoying and spiritually benefiting from these monthly scripture writing plans! I usually print these out on 28 pound white paper (or 32 pound paper is even better) and just stick them right into my planner or journal. The heavier the paper, the less chance it will tear out of your binder or planner by accident and helps resist bleeding or ghosting from your pens or markers. It helps the page turn easier too. If you choose to print these out on full-size (letter) sticker paper. I use these here. They’re priced great and you can write on them easily. They are good enough quality for my needs. If you want a top-quality sticker paper look for these or clear ones here. (Though not all pens or markers will write well on the clear ones). If you don’t want to use sticker paper, you can print them on card stock or regular printer paper and glue them down. Honestly, the sticker paper is the best way, however. Regardless of the type. Going through a lot of ink printing out planner stickers? Do like I did and enlist in the HP Instant Ink program! I’ve saved so much money on ink since I did a year and a half ago. They have different plans, but the one I’m in (the most pages) is that I can print up to 300 pages worth of ink for just over $9.99 per month. You can choose lesser pages for a lower rate, but I do a lot of printing between coupons, planner stickers and other things. Click on the image here to check it out! –>

April, 2019 Journaling Prompt Plan

With Spring in mind along with thoughts of new, fresh beginnings, but particularly on the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, this month we will be journaling on our thoughts, memories, and happenings on that theme.

I encourage you to use these prompts to write out prayers to the Lord or just meditate yourself. It’s a good way to express ourselves and work on our mental and spiritual health!

So with that in mind, here is our next journaling prompt plan!

Doodle Challenge for April 2019 -Easter and Spring!

I’m playing catch up today getting my groups and blogs ready for April. Wow, where did the month of March go?? Well I was pretty distracted with my husband in the hospital again, but it still seemed to fly by.

This month is the most important time of year for a Christian. The holiday some call Easter and some call Resurrection Day. Either way, in the life of a believer in Jesus, it’s all about celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. No other “religious” leader has been resurrected from the dead to live forever more to intercede at the right hand of God for those who trust Him for salvation and eternal life.

That’s what this month’s doodle is about, of course!

April, 2019 Scripture Writing Plan

I’d planned to get this up on the blog several days ago. Life happens though, doesn’t it? 🙂

My husband had yet ANOTHER health scare this month. He had septic arthritis in his left knee that almost killed him in December into January. Now in March he had MRSA in his toe and had to have part of it amputated last week. He’d gone in to the endocrinologist for a follow up and when she checked his feet, she noted that his toe was really red. She scheduled him to see a podiatrist the next morning who diagnosed him with MRSA. Even his bone was soft. They amputated it from the tip of his toe to just past the nail. Life is never dull around here, it seems :/ I’m sure praying that Spring is kinder to us than winter was! But I’m standing on the promises of God more than ever, and that prompted me to use that as this month’s theme.

Our First Monthly Journaling Prompt Plan!

It’s a good way to express ourselves and work on our mental and spiritual health!

Doodle Challenge for March 2019

Ugh, technology is just not cooperating with me lately! 🙂 I’ve been trying to get this uploaded for three days now and am just now able to do so because I tried a different browser. I had to switch from Chrome to Firefox. I’d click on “Add Media” and it would just sit there (not adding media). I uninstalled Chrome and installed a fresh copy and it still did that. I fired up Firefox and it’s working fine. Go figure. I’m so used to Chrome I hate switching, but I may have to at least for blogging :/ ack!

Anyway 🙂 FINALLY here is our monthly Doodle Challenge!

Scripture Writing Plan for March 2019

Hello everyone! 🙂 Please forgive me for the delay in getting my March challenge posts up. I intended to over the weekend and then we were one of the many families affected by the power outages caused by the wind storm. That was sure no fun! Then I had to prepare for a teaching I did at my offline Bible study on the topic of HOPE. That’s my topic for this month’s scripture writing plan. I know many of you are waiting for it to prepare your journals for tomorrow’s March arrival, so I’ll get right to it 🙂 I’ll also be adding a few new journaling plans/challenges for us. I thought I’d try out something new and if it goes over well, I will keep it in my monthly rotation 🙂

Ponderings of My Predicaments: My Husband’s Crisis

I told you all last month that I would post about what happened with my husband in December. I’ve found myself with some quiet time this evening, so I thought this would be a good time to do so.

It all began the week between Thanksgiving and December. My husband was in the backyard preparing things for winter. He was walking across the back yard and forgot about the raised garden (railroad ties raised up around the garden to raise it above yard level). He tripped over the wood and fell. It’s important to note here, that he has a bad case of eczema and had some small sores on his knee, so to it was easy for infection to set in.

He came in hobbling a little bit, cleaned up and didn’t think much more about it. He started hobbling around even more and eventually couldn’t walk. I had to call 911 to come and help me pick him up. He thought it was just the one leg and it needed time to heal, so we told the EMT he could go.

The next day (or the day after, one of the two), on December 3rd my husband got down the stairs to the downstairs bathroom (we live in a split level) and he couldn’t get back up the stairs. In fact, he was on the floor at the bottom of the stairs and couldn’t even stand up.
