November 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -Thankfulness

November 2019 scripture writing plan header

I’m so sorry I got this posted at nearly the last minute while it’s still October. This is probably the latest I’ve gotten a scripture writing plan posted and I hope you’ll forgive that.  The month of October really got away from me. You should see my calendar for this month. It’s full of one appointment after the next after the next. There’s so much to be done after the death of a spouse, and add being the only parent (now) of a child with special needs, and doctor and dentist appointments for us both that had been rescheduled while trying to save my husband’s life and the month was just crazy.

It was really busy at times, and the down times we did have was very emotional for me, in missing my husband. Evenings when we would normally watch TV together is the toughest time for me. My son’s care that we used to share is all on me now and I’m adjusting to that too.

I’m thankful for my sweet son though, and for the many things the Lord has done to bring me through the pain, trials, and provision and remains to do so.  So being the month of Thanksgiving, I wanted to continue the tradition of being thankful with our scripture writing plan.

As most of my readers know, we have a special needs son with autism (non-verbal) and now as a widow, he and I can use all the help we can get till the dust settles, so I’m leaving up the GO FUND ME PAGE loving people have given generously to throughout his cancer treatment days.

I sold all the rest of my husband’s pinball machines to raise enough money for his funeral expenses, but I still need to buy him a grave stone :'(

I had my appointment with social security a few days ago and applied for my husband’s benefits. I won’t hear a decision on that for 3-6 months and I have to make due for that period of time with the income my son and I have until it is (hopefully) approved.  Things are INSANELY tight…  We can use any help we can get between then and now…

Please help us

This month is about thankfulness as I think we all need reminded of the need to be thankful firstly to our Lord God Almighty. Those of us who 2019 was particularly difficult for, I think we especially need to be mindful of the need to be thankful. Yes, God allowed some very difficult things into our lives this year, but how many things in our lives has He allowed for our good that we don’t give Him credit for? Things for which we neglect to remember and acknowledge Who was behind all those good things?

I am so thankful that my husband knew Christ as his savior when he went Home to glory.

I usually print these out on 28 pound white paper (or 32 pound paper is even better) and just stick them right into my planner or journal. The heavier the paper, the less chance it will tear out of your binder or planner by accident and helps resist bleeding or ghosting from your pens or markers. It helps the page turn easier too. If you choose to print these out on full-size (letter) sticker paper. I use these here. They’re priced great and you can write on them easily. They are good enough quality for my needs. If you want a top-quality sticker paper look for these or clear ones here. (Though not all pens or markers will write well on the clear ones). If you don’t want to use sticker paper, you can print them on card stock or regular printer paper and glue them down. Honestly, the sticker paper is the best way, however. Regardless of the type. Going through a lot of ink printing out planner stickers? Do like I did and enlist in the HP Instant Ink program! I’ve saved so much money on ink since I did a year and a half ago. They have different plans, but the one I’m in (the most pages) is that I can print up to 300 pages worth of ink for just over $9.99 per month. You can choose lesser pages for a lower rate, but I do a lot of printing between coupons, planner stickers and other things. Click on the image here to check it out! –>HP Instant Ink

October 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -God’s Goodness

October 2019 scripture writing plan header

My husband went to be with the Lord September 15th…

So no small talk today…  I’m just too raw right now.

I’ll post all about it one day and just know that I made a commitment to the Lord to at least get the scripture writing plan up every month, so I just finished it and now submit it to you all really hoping you all glean from it and grow in your knowledge of God’s Word.

I’m so very thankful for you all. Just know God is good…regardless.

As most of my readers know, we have a special needs son with autism (non-verbal) and now as a widow, he and I can use all the help we can get till the dust settles, so I’m leaving up the GO FUND ME PAGE loving people have given generously to throughout his cancer treatment days.

I sold all the rest of my husband’s pinball machines to raise enough money for his funeral expenses, but I still need to buy him a grave stone :'(  And… I’m waiting to see what will happen with our income once the death certificate is available for me to pick up.

Please help us

I chose God’s Goodness for the theme this month because that was the sermon the pastor used in my husband’s funeral (along with a great gospel message) and I think I need a month’s worth of reminders of that fact… As I said…I’m pretty raw. It’s only been 12 days, and just 6 days since the funeral.

September 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -Fresh Start

September 2019 Scripture Writing Plan

Without further adieu, here is our September, 2019 scripture writing plan. Better late than never 🙂

Please forgive the delay. I was due to bring my husband home from the nursing home yesterday, then it was changed to this Saturday, THEN he had a setback and is back in the hospital admitted with an elevated white blood cell count (indicating an infection) and so far they’ve discovered an infection in one of his lungs.

They performed an MRI yesterday and we’re still waiting for the results from that.

It’s been such. a. long. summer….(sigh…)  Actually this all began just after Thanksgiving last November.

Every time we think he’s at the end of this trial, a new complication arises…

When he does return home, he’ll have to have a visiting nurse attending to him.  But you know, this has really drawn him so much closer to the Lord. Crises either make you or break you and that includes in terms of your spiritual life.  I’m just so glad it’s drawn him to the Lord.

We couldn’t have afforded any of it without the GO FUND ME PAGE loving people have given generously to. We don’t need help with the rental fee every day any more (thank the good Lord), but there are some expenses remaining I would be more than grateful for your help with.  I have to pay the tax and title for the new van and that’s a little more than I have in our account at the moment.  There will be a lot of doctor appointments once Greg is home from the nursing homes. I’m just so eager for the days away from each other to be over!

Please help us

More on that later, this post is about the September scripture writing plan. (I hope to do a lot of writing here about it all once things slow down.) I’ve been so busy that I left it up to my Facebook group members to suggest a theme (thanks guys!). Out of a long list they supplied, I chose this one:  Fresh start.  With the start of a new school and college year, a new fiscal year, and new season, it did seem fitting!

I’m so thankful that so many of you are enjoying and spiritually benefiting from these monthly scripture writing plans! August 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -Steadfastness

August 2019 Scripture Writing Plan header

So much has happened since I posted July’s scripture writing plan.  Good and bad. My husband’s health (hospitalized and now nursing home), upcoming (unexpected) landlord inspection, van purchase (finally! We finally sold that pinball machine and got enough money to buy a new van). I feel like a yoyo that keeps going up and down!! 🙂  I’ll be posting all about it soon, but today’s post is for those of you who enjoy these Scripture writing plans.

I’ve been trying to get at least that posted every month through these crises, if nothing else. I long for the time I can be consistently active with more posts! It can’t be helped at this point, but with my husband having only 3 more radiation treatments (they discontinued the chemo) we’re at the last stretch (Lord willing!!)

I’ve been overwhelmed a number of times but the Lord has helped me understand the importance of steadfastness. He’s been so so good to us through all of this.  I’ve learned I’m stronger than I thought I am (through His strength), and He’s shown me how to keep putting one foot in front of the other in the midst of all this. If He’s been here for us through ALL that’s happened since December, I can have faith He always will, and that has taught me to be steadfast and keep going one breath at a time. I usually say, “One day at a time”, but with all we’ve been through, I’m now saying, “one breath at a time”, because that’s how we face every day, after all.

We need to be steadfast, trusting the Lord to be our shepherd to protect us, be our rock to hold us up, and be our lighthouse to guide the way for us.

There will be a lot of doctor appointments once Greg is home from the nursing homes (his last radiation day is Wednesday and I’m moving him to the nursing home near our home (my mom is there too) for further rehab and recovery.

July 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -Overcoming

July 2019 scripture writing plan

First I want to say thank you for very very very much for the love outpoured to my family during this trying time.  I literally could not have gotten through it without you!  The Lord has been so good to us using some of you to get us through it financially, and He has been so good to us helping us to endure the trials.

We just finished week 1 of 6 weeks of chemo and radiation for my husband.  I’ve been sick the past 3 days with a sinus infection (I suspect) that began as a bad allergy attack, and now (as much as I’ve tried to distance myself from him), Greg has it now. That can be very scary in his condition…

So far he’s dealing with some swallowing difficulty, tiredness, and a little dizziness. He still has a lot to go though…

We still are looking for a buyer for the pinball machine whose sale can get us a new vehicle after my husband hit a deer two days before his cancer surgery.  We are still driving a rental car and that daily rate adds up really quickly.  We couldn’t have it without the GO FUND ME PAGE loving people have given generously to.

Please help us

We are staying Monday-Friday in Solon, Ohio with friends of Greg’s family who have opened their home to us.  We stayed there last week and will again this week, but it’s uncertain for the other four weeks. They are such a blessing to us because there hasn’t been a facility open for us to lodge in throughout Greg’s treatments because we have our 16-year old autistic son with us and they don’t allow minors, or because they want us to contribute half the normal hotel room rate and we can’t afford that.  It’s an hour and a half drive from our home to the Cleveland Clinic where he gets chemo once a week for 5 hours, and radiation for 5 days a week.

We can use all the help we can get, and if the Lord puts it on your heart to lend a hand, I have a Go Fund Me page here that will explain it all.

But on to the scripture writing plan!  July is my birthday month, so I thought it was ok to be selfish and choose the theme I need the most right now:  overcoming!

June, 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -Our Words

June 2019 Scripture Writing Plan

Better late than never, as they say 🙂

Please forgive the delay in getting this up and ready for you all.  As you may have read in my post about my husband’s health crisis, I have my hands full trying to douse water on all the fires and hold on to the Lord as tightly as possible along the way. My husband just had cancer surgery last week to remove a grapefruit-sized tumor on the back of his head/neck.  A few days before that, he hit a deer and totalled our only running vehicle.  He has to go to the Cleveland Clinic for radiation beginning June 11th for 6 weeks and we live an hour and a half away, so you know I’m a bit beside myself at the moment…

I really try to follow our Lord’s teaching in Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” and do my best to put His kingdom first knowing He will straighten out everything else. With that in mind, I try to make it a priority for me that I get my ministry items for up to my blogs and my groups and get everything straight so I can then turn my attention back to everything else (and boy is there a LOT!)

We can use all the help we can get, and if the Lord puts it on your heart to lend a hand, I have a Go Fund Me page here that will explain it all.

But on to the scripture writing plan!

May, 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -Emotions

Scripture Writing Plan for May 2019

Hello everyone 🙂

Here’s our Scripture Writing Plan for May!

As has become a pattern with my posts of late…there is again a health scare for my husband I would covet your prayers regarding.

December through January gave him Sepsis in his knee, last month (March) he had to have the tip of his toe amputated due to MRSA (we suspect he contracted in the hospital or the three weeks in the nursing home during his Sepsis hospitalization.

THIS time it’s….cancer…   He started noticing a growth on the back of his neck during this last hospital stay with the MRSA.  At first we (and the hospital staff) thought it was just a cyst. But it kept growing…   to now it’s the size of half an orange 🙁

His dermatologist did a biopsy a few weeks ago and we got the diagnosis of carcinoma last week.  Right now we are awaiting Tuesday when he will undergo a PET scan, MRI, CT, and endoscopy to determine the extent of the cancer…  The oncologist he saw last week wants to see where else (or hopefully nowhere else) the cancer may be.  He wants to know if the neck is the extent of the cancer,or if it developed somewhere else and spread to his neck.

At any rate…you can imagine the stress as we wait…

But the Lord has been so good to us in the midst of it all, and in the effort to put Him first, I ask you for your prayers and move us on to our monthly scripture writing plan which helps to grow our faith and get us closer to Him regardless of our trials.

I’m so thankful that so many of you are enjoying and spiritually benefiting from these monthly scripture writing plans! I love putting them together for you knowing that you find them useful and uplifting! April, 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -God’s Promises

April, 2019 Scripture Writing Plan

I’d planned to get this up on the blog several days ago. Life happens though, doesn’t it? 🙂

My husband had yet ANOTHER health scare this month. He had septic arthritis in his left knee that almost killed him in December into January. Now in March he had MRSA in his toe and had to have part of it amputated last week. He’d gone in to the endocrinologist for a follow up and when she checked his feet, she noted that his toe was really red. She scheduled him to see a podiatrist the next morning who diagnosed him with MRSA. Even his bone was soft. They amputated it from the tip of his toe to just past the nail. Life is never dull around here, it seems :/ I’m sure praying that Spring is kinder to us than winter was! But I’m standing on the promises of God more than ever, and that prompted me to use that as this month’s theme.

Scripture Writing Plan for March 2019

March 2019 scripture writing plan

Hello everyone! 🙂  Please forgive me for the delay in getting my March challenge posts up.  I intended to over the weekend and then we were one of the many families affected by the power outages caused by the wind storm. That was sure no fun! Then I had to prepare for a teaching I did at my offline Bible study on the topic of HOPE.  That’s my topic for this month’s scripture writing plan.  I know many of you are waiting for it to prepare your journals for tomorrow’s March arrival, so I’ll get right to it 🙂  I’ll also be adding a few new journaling plans/challenges for us.  I thought I’d try out something new and if it goes over well, I will keep it in my monthly rotation 🙂

Scripture Writing Plan for February 2019

February 2019 scripture writing plan
Thank you so much to all of you who have been asking me about my husband’s recovery. He is still using a walker to get around, but he’s doing so much better. I look forward to filling you all in as soon as I find time 🙂 Here is our scripture writing plan for February, 2019! I thought “love” had probably been overdone for February 🙂 So I chose ,’confidence and self worth’ due to the fact that there have been several conversations about it in my Facebook group of late.
