January 2020 Doodle Challenge header

Hello everyone šŸ™‚

In my effort to try to get things back to normal around here (my Facebook group and my blogs) and attach it to my “new normal”, I’m trying to start 2020 out right by being consistent with my writing again.Ā  To that end, I present for you our first doodle challenge for the new year.Ā  I’d love to see your creations!Ā  Link it up in the comments below or share in the Facebook group.

Why do we doodle?Ā  Doodling simple things helps you to develop your drawing skills, which helps you increase your Bible art journaling skills.Ā  It also increases your hand/eye coordination which helps in many areas of life!

This challenge is participated in by the members of myĀ Facebook group, Christian Planner, Journal, and Craft FellowshipĀ and any of you who would like to join us! You can join us in the group or join along on Instagram.

I usually print these out onĀ 28 pound white paperĀ (or 32 pound paper is even better) and just stick them right into my planner or journal. The heavier the paper, the less chance it will tear out of your binder or planner by accident and helps resist bleeding or ghosting from your pens or markers. It helps the page turn easier too.

If you choose to print these out on full-size (letter) sticker paper.Ā I use these here. Theyā€™re priced great and you can write on them easily. They are good enough quality for my needs. If you want a top-quality sticker paper look forĀ theseĀ orĀ clear ones here. (Though not all pens or markers will write well on the clear ones). If you donā€™t want to use sticker paper, you can print them on card stock or regular printer paper and glue them down. Honestly, the sticker paper is the best way, however. Regardless of the type.

Going through a lot of ink printing out planner stickers? Do like I did and enlist inĀ the HP Instant Ink program!Ā Iā€™ve saved so much money on ink since I did a year and a half ago. They have different plans, but the one Iā€™m in (the most pages) is that I can print up to 300 pages worth of ink for just over $9.99 per month. You can choose lesser pages for a lower rate, but I do a lot of printing between coupons, planner stickers and other things. Click on the image here to check it out! ā€“>

January 2020 Scripture Writing Plan -A New Start Done Right!

January 2020 scripture writing plan header

I hope you all are having an amazing holiday season!

This is a difficult one for my son and I, being the first since losing my husband, but God has been SO amazingly good and faithful to us thorugh it all. I’m so thankful for friends and family for their love and support.Ā  I’m very thankful also for a few churches and organizations that rallied around us and got Evan a huge bounty of Christmas gifts! What a true blessing.

I had my share of emotional breakdowns, and my son’s IEP meeting made me realize he is affected by his daddy’s death more than I’d thought.Ā  He’s really smart and is doing great in school ,but there are a few areas he usually does great in that have decreased a bit.Ā  I so wish he could talk to tell me what he’s thinking and feeling.Ā  But he gets his point across in the immediate things and he clings to me and is so loving. He’s the greatest blessing in my life second only to our Savior, Jesus.

I really tried to focus on the true meaning for why we have Christmas at all. It’s all about Him!Ā  I’ll post more about what’s happening in a future post under my Ponderings of My Predicaments category.Ā  I’m really planning on being a lot more present with my blogging and Facebook groups than I have been since all the tragedy arose.

We are just about in a brand new year, and I don’t know about you, but I am MORE than looking forward to kissing 2019 goodbye and leaving it in the dust.

I just created our scripture writing plan for January, and it’s all about how to get a fresh start done right!

December 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -Prophecies Fulfilled by Christ’s First Coming

December 2019 scripture writing plan header

This month I decided to do a poll in my Facebook group, Christian Planner, Journal, and Craft Fellowship and allow them to choose the topic for this month’s scripture writing plan.Ā  By very popular demand, the majority of them chose, “Prophecies Fulfilled by Christ’s First Coming”.Ā  I think it’s perfect because it helps us learn the portions of the old testament that has the prophecies stated and the new testament that shows it’s fulfillment!

I hope you will enjoy learning more about the various prophecies Jesus fulfilled.Ā  This is just a sampling of them. There are many more! I encourage you to spend some time in the Word of God and learn them for yourself šŸ™‚

Thank you, all of you who are praying for my son and I after the passing of my husband in September.Ā  The holidays being upon us is very difficult without him. Our anniversary is on December 1st, and his birthday is on Christmas Day, so December is a very trying month this year for sure šŸ™Ā  Ā But I trust the Lord and His faithfulness to guide my son and I into a new normal and I look forward to what he has ahead for us as we remember all the wonderful memories spent with Greg.

Being a new widow is very emotional, I won’t lie.Ā  Your continued prayers are very appreciated!Ā  God bless you all this Christmas season <3

November 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -Thankfulness

November 2019 scripture writing plan header

I’m so sorry I got this posted at nearly the last minute while it’s still October. This is probably the latest I’ve gotten a scripture writing plan posted and I hope you’ll forgive that.Ā  The month of October really got away from me. You should see my calendar for this month. It’s full of one appointment after the next after the next. There’s so much to be done after the death of a spouse, and add being the only parent (now) of a child with special needs, and doctor and dentist appointments for us both that had been rescheduled while trying to save my husband’s life and the month was just crazy.

It was really busy at times, and the down times we did have was very emotional for me, in missing my husband. Evenings when we would normally watch TV together is the toughest time for me. My son’s care that we used to share is all on me now and I’m adjusting to that too.

I’m thankful for my sweet son though, and for the many things the Lord has done to bring me through the pain, trials, and provision and remains to do so.Ā  So being the month of Thanksgiving, I wanted to continue the tradition of being thankful with our scripture writing plan.

As most of my readers know, we have a special needs son with autism (non-verbal) and now as a widow, he and I can use all the help we can get till the dust settles, so Iā€™m leaving up theĀ GO FUND ME PAGEĀ loving people have given generously to throughout his cancer treatment days.

I sold all the rest of my husbandā€™s pinball machines to raise enough money for his funeral expenses, but I still need to buy him a grave stone :'(

I had my appointment with social security a few days ago and applied for my husband’s benefits. I won’t hear a decision on that for 3-6 months and I have to make due for that period of time with the income my son and I have until it is (hopefully) approved.Ā  Things are INSANELY tight…Ā  We can use any help we can get between then and now…

Please help us

This month is about thankfulness as I think we all need reminded of the need to be thankful firstly to our Lord God Almighty. Those of us who 2019 was particularly difficult for, I think we especially need to be mindful of the need to be thankful. Yes, God allowed some very difficult things into our lives this year, but how many things in our lives has He allowed for our good that we don’t give Him credit for? Things for which we neglect to remember and acknowledge Who was behind all those good things?

I am so thankful that my husband knew Christ as his savior when he went Home to glory.

October 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -God’s Goodness

October 2019 scripture writing plan header

My husband went to be with the Lord September 15th…

So no small talk today… Ā I’m just too raw right now.

I’ll post all about it one day and just know that I made a commitment to the Lord to at least get the scripture writing plan up every month, so I just finished it and now submit it to you all really hoping you all glean from it and grow in your knowledge of God’s Word.

I’m so very thankful for you all. Just know God is good…regardless.

As most of my readers know, we have a special needs son with autism (non-verbal) and now as a widow, he and I can use all the help we can get till the dust settles, so I’m leaving up the GO FUND ME PAGE loving people have given generously to throughout his cancer treatment days.

I sold all the rest of my husband’s pinball machines to raise enough money for his funeral expenses, but I still need to buy him a grave stone :'(Ā  And… I’m waiting to see what will happen with our income once the death certificate is available for me to pick up.

Please help us

I chose God’s Goodness for the theme this month because that was the sermon the pastor used in my husband’s funeral (along with a great gospel message) and I think I need a month’s worth of reminders of that fact… As I said…I’m pretty raw. It’s only been 12 days, and just 6 days since the funeral.

September 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -Fresh Start

September 2019 Scripture Writing Plan

Without further adieu, here is our September, 2019 scripture writing plan. Better late than never šŸ™‚

Please forgive the delay. I was due to bring my husband home from the nursing home yesterday, then it was changed to this Saturday, THEN he had a setback and is back in the hospital admitted with an elevated white blood cell count (indicating an infection) and so far they’ve discovered an infection in one of his lungs.

They performed an MRI yesterday and we’re still waiting for the results from that.

It’s been such. a. long. summer….(sigh…)Ā  Actually this all began just after Thanksgiving last November.

Every time we think he’s at the end of this trial, a new complication arises…

When he does return home, he’ll have to have a visiting nurse attending to him.Ā  But you know, this has really drawn him so much closer to the Lord. Crises either make you or break you and that includes in terms of your spiritual life.Ā  I’m just so glad it’s drawn him to the Lord.

We couldnā€™t have afforded any of it without theĀ GO FUND ME PAGE loving people have given generously to. We donā€™t need help with the rental fee every day any more (thank the good Lord), but there are some expenses remaining I would be more than grateful for your help with.Ā  I have to pay the tax and title for the new van and thatā€™s a little more than I have in our account at the moment.Ā  There will be a lot of doctor appointments once Greg is home from the nursing homes. I’m just so eager for the days away from each other to be over!

Please help us

More on that later, this post is about the September scripture writing plan. (I hope to do a lot of writing here about it all once things slow down.) I’ve been so busy that I left it up to my Facebook group members to suggest a theme (thanks guys!). Out of a long list they supplied, I chose this one:Ā  Fresh start.Ā  With the start of a new school and college year, a new fiscal year, and new season, it did seem fitting!

August 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -Steadfastness

August 2019 Scripture Writing Plan header

So much has happened since I posted July’s scripture writing plan.Ā  Good and bad. My husband’s health (hospitalized and now nursing home), upcoming (unexpected) landlord inspection, van purchase (finally! We finally sold that pinball machine and got enough money to buy a new van). I feel like a yoyo that keeps going up and down!! šŸ™‚Ā  I’ll be posting all about it soon, but today’s post is for those of you who enjoy these Scripture writing plans.

I’ve been trying to get at least that posted every month through these crises, if nothing else. I long for the time I can be consistently active with more posts! It can’t be helped at this point, but with my husband having only 3 more radiation treatments (they discontinued the chemo) we’re at the last stretch (Lord willing!!)

I’ve been overwhelmed a number of times but the Lord has helped me understand the importance of steadfastness. He’s been so so good to us through all of this.Ā  I’ve learned I’m stronger than I thought I am (through His strength), and He’s shown me how to keep putting one foot in front of the other in the midst of all this. If He’s been here for us through ALL that’s happened since December, I can have faith He always will, and that has taught me to be steadfast and keep going one breath at a time. I usually say, “One day at a time”, but with all we’ve been through, I’m now saying, “one breath at a time”, because that’s how we face every day, after all.

We need to be steadfast, trusting the Lord to be our shepherd to protect us, be our rock to hold us up, and be our lighthouse to guide the way for us.

We couldnā€™t have afforded any of it without the GO FUND ME PAGE loving people have given generously to. We don’t need help with the rental fee every day any more (thank the good Lord), but there are some expenses remaining I would be more than grateful for your help with.Ā  I have to pay the tax and title for the new van and that’s a little more than I have in our account at the moment.Ā  There will be a lot of doctor appointments once Greg is home from the nursing homes (his last radiation day is Wednesday and I’m moving him to the nursing home near our home (my mom is there too) for further rehab and recovery.

July 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -Overcoming

July 2019 scripture writing plan

First I want to say thank you for very very very much for the love outpoured to my family during this trying time.Ā  I literally could not have gotten through it without you!Ā  The Lord has been so good to us using some of you to get us through it financially, and He has been so good to us helping us to endure the trials.

We just finished week 1 of 6 weeks of chemo and radiation for my husband.Ā  I’ve been sick the past 3 days with a sinus infection (I suspect) that began as a bad allergy attack, and now (as much as I’ve tried to distance myself from him), Greg has it now. That can be very scary in his condition…

So far he’s dealing with some swallowing difficulty, tiredness, and a little dizziness. He still has a lot to go though…

We still are looking for a buyer for the pinball machine whose sale can get us a new vehicle after my husband hit a deer two days before his cancer surgery.Ā  We are still driving a rental car and that daily rate adds up really quickly.Ā  We couldn’t have it without the GO FUND ME PAGE loving people have given generously to.

Please help us

We are staying Monday-Friday in Solon, Ohio with friends of Greg’s family who have opened their home to us.Ā  We stayed there last week and will again this week, but it’s uncertain for the other four weeks. They are such a blessing to us because there hasn’t been a facility open for us to lodge in throughout Greg’s treatments because we have our 16-year old autistic son with us and they don’t allow minors, or because they want us to contribute half the normal hotel room rate and we can’t afford that.Ā  It’s an hour and a half drive from our home to the Cleveland Clinic where he gets chemo once a week for 5 hours, and radiation for 5 days a week.

We can use all the help we can get, and if the Lord puts it on your heart to lend a hand, I haveĀ a Go Fund Me page hereĀ that will explain it all.

But on to the scripture writing plan!Ā  July is my birthday month, so I thought it was ok to be selfish and choose the theme I need the most right now:Ā  overcoming!

June, 2019 Scripture Writing Plan -Our Words

June 2019 Scripture Writing Plan

Better late than never, as they say šŸ™‚

Please forgive the delay in getting this up and ready for you all.Ā  As you may have read in my post about my husband’s health crisis, I have my hands full trying to douse water on all the fires and hold on to the Lord as tightly as possible along the way. My husband just had cancer surgery last week to remove a grapefruit-sized tumor on the back of his head/neck.Ā  A few days before that, he hit a deer and totalled our only running vehicle.Ā  He has to go to the Cleveland Clinic for radiation beginning June 11th for 6 weeks and we live an hour and a half away, so you know I’m a bit beside myself at the moment…

I really try to follow our Lord’s teaching in Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” and do my best to put His kingdom first knowing He will straighten out everything else. With that in mind, I try to make it a priority for me that I get my ministry items for up to my blogs and my groups and get everything straight so I can then turn my attention back to everything else (and boy is there a LOT!)

We can use all the help we can get, and if the Lord puts it on your heart to lend a hand, I have a Go Fund Me page here that will explain it all.

But on to the scripture writing plan!

Iā€™m so thankful that so many of you are enjoying and spiritually benefiting from these monthly scripture writing plans! My Husband has Cancer Please Pray!

Ponderings of My Predicaments The Great Yellow Jacket Escape

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you will remember that I posted about my husband suffering from Sepsis back in December and January.Ā  Then in March he had part of his toe amputated due to MRSA he probably contracted during his hospital or nursing home stay.Ā  Now doctors say he has cancer…

I covet your prayers!!Ā  The enemy is attacking my little family left and right and I need the family of Christ to come together against these attacks once and for all.Ā  I guess I must be doing something right to be attacked so badly, so often.Ā  Our son is 16 now and has autism. Still non-verbal, still my greatest gift and joy next to salvation and eternal life through Christ.Ā  My mom has alzheimers. I suffer from spinal stenosis and deal with back pain regularly.

But this post is about my husband who is suffereing the most, at present.

Greg has been diagnosed with squamous cell cancer. He has a tumor on his neck/head the size of a baseball. You can see it in the photo, though it has grown considerably since I took this photo. –>

He is scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday and will be hospitalized 5 days afterwards. They have to operate in two stages. The first 5 hours will be to remove the tumor and any other areas that need it.(There are 3 others smaller areas). Then another five hours for reconstructive surgery where they will take skin from either his chest or thigh to replace the skin that’s removed on his neck.
This will be at the Cleveland Clinic.
Three weeks later he will undergo radiation treatments for about 6 weeks. That will occur in Cleveland.
My small family consists of my husband, our son (who is 16 and autistic, non-verbal) and myself. We are all disabled.
Greg had a kidney transplant in 2011 after which he has to remain on immunosuppressants for the rest of his life. These drugs help his body avoid rejecting the kidney, but they also greatly reduce hiss immune system and makes him more susceptible to other illnesses.
That makes this cancer treatment so much trickier because they have to monitor him closely as they take him off the immunosuppressants did he can heal after surgery, but during that duration he is at risk for kidney failure.
We live an hour and a half drive from Cleveland near Mansfield.

Another issue is that on his way home from an appointment a few days ago, he hit a deer and (probably) totalled our only running vehicle (still waiting to hear back from our insurance company). We have a rental car through tomorrow but his surgery is the next day.
I don’t know how we can afford the rental car after the insurance company stops paying for it. The contract is only through Monday and surgery is Tuesday. I’m praying they will extend the time we can keep the rental car.
There will be a lot of trips to Cleveland and back for my son and I during surgery week, then when radiation begins (3 weeks after surgery) there is up to 6 weeks of getting him to Cleveland daily for that.
The average cancer patient in our area can get radiation here in town, but due to his complex medical situation with his kidney it has to be done there, the doctors tell us, where his specialists are.
My husband suffered sepsis in his knee in December and January, then had part of his toe amputated in March due to MRSA, now cancer…

I asked his surgeon and oncologist why this keeps happening. They explained about the risks the immunosuppresants create. Even though they help him retain his new kidney, they put him at risk for anything else.
Those who know me, know how much I hate doing this… but several people asked me to set up a GoFundMe page, and if you share this, it may help us through this season of trials.

It’s so hard to be humbled in any situation, but when it comes to asking for help the stress multiplies as people may think you are trying to scam them or make money off a situation. They don’t know the person on the other side of the screen and how genuine they are. God does, and I’m trusting Him to get us all through all of this, but also to provide through it all. He is so faithful.

go fund me for Greg

Any help for getting him to surgery and treatments and meals for my son and I during surgery week and the six weeks of radiation is so much appreciated.

I had no idea what amount to ask for, and the GoFund Me default is $1,000 so I just left it at that. Any help at all is much appreciated.
We are a Christian family and I’ve laid this at the foot of the cross. This funding was suggested by several members of Facebook groups I’m a part of, and I’m humbling myself to place this as part of trusting God to get us through.
I know the Lord will bless you for any help you may offer. Thank you ā¤

I truly appreciate your PRAYERS mostly, as I know God is good and faithful, and He listens to the prayers of His children.

I’ll be doing my best to keep you all updated here and my mirror blog, SincerelySapphire.com

God bless you!

oh, BTW:Ā  I’ll have a lot of time during my waiting room hours to work on June’s scripture writing challenge, and our other monthly plans and challenges, so I’ll do my best to get that done as well.
