Mindful Monday Devotional – He Will Never Forget You!

Mindful Monday - He will never forget you

Have you ever felt that you were just so insignificant in the big picture of the fast universe that it’s difficult to believe that God even knows who you are?  I think we all have, (yes, even you! Whether you admit it or not!)  I do quite often and the Lord reminds me every time that He loves me enough to die for me. What amazing grace!

I mean think about it. In all the history of the world and all the people who have been born onto it, how can little “me” mean anything to the creator of such a world?  But he does!  And not just a little bit, the Bible tells us in Luke 12:

“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” -Luke 12:6-7

I had a friend not long ago ask me to count the number of hairs in my brush in the morning after I brush it so she could see if she was normal in the amount of hairs she was losing.  I wasn’t about to do that 🙂 It would be too time consuming, but yet our creator knows without counting!

What a blessing to know that He is God and we are not!

I read this recently and I hope you are as blessed by it as I was:

(I saved this to share with you all for a Mindful Monday post, but forgot to save the source. If anyone knows, let me know and I will update this post):

Reading through this passage in Matthew yesterday, I was reminded of this quote by Spurgeon, “Child of God, you cost Christ too much for Him to forget you.” It’s true, you know. You’re in no danger of being forgotten, no matter what your emotions or your heart tell you. There is no reason to fear or worry when we are securely planted in the palm of His hand.
In Matthew, this passage (10:28) comes right after Jesus talks about persecution (real, life threatening, persecution, not a little picking on…) and right before he talks about how He won’t be accepted by everyone, including family, and we will have to make tough decisions about where our allegiance lies. Jesus is telling us here to not worry about what man can do to us… He’s sovereign over sparrows and He’s sovereign over us.
Most (probably none) of us have experienced life threatening persecution, but so many of our brothers and sisters around the globe haven’t been, and aren’t, so fortunate. Friends, we fear and worry over far less… and we should repent. If we can trust our Father with our eternity, then we can certainly trust Him for our here and now! On earth, we are His most prized possession, and we are in no danger of being pushed aside, overlooked, or forgotten.
If you are feeling any of those things, today, know that those are lies from the enemy who loves to see you wallow in yourself! Fix your gaze on Jesus and know, because He has told you, that you are valued, loved and attended to by Him.
